Hueylan Chern, MD

Dr. Hueylan Chern is a colorectal surgeon at UCSF Medical Center. She specializes in minimally invasive procedures for conditions such as colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and diverticular disease. She has expertise in endorectal ultrasound, transanal endoscopic microsurgery and sphincter-preserving operations.

In research, Chern's interests include endorectal ultrasound and colorectal cancer.

Chern earned her medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). She completed general surgery training at Brown University and a fellowship in colorectal surgery at UMDNJ, followed by additional oncology training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
