Rapid transfer for stroke patients 24/7

The UCSF rapid transfer protocol enables immediate access to our neuroscience physicians and newly designated rapid transfer beds for each level of care. This ensures access for every patient with a neurovascular emergency. Conditions managed through our rapid transfer program include:

• Acute large-vessel-occlusion ischemic stroke

• Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage

• Hemorrhagic stroke, especially those caused by arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), cavernous malformations or dural fistulas
